Xero accounting software is the system of choice for almost every client. Your company will be setup by a Xero Certified Advisor and maintained as part of your bookkeeping accounting package.
Xero’s pride comes from being “beautiful accounting software,” but it is also incredibly rich in features and efficient workflows. A sound implementation will result in reports and insights that small business owners did not have access to even a few years ago!
Why Xero Accounting Software?
It is very good at a whole host of important tasks, but more importantly, it’s also the best cloud solution in many cases. Xero accounting software has proven to be the best for us at:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Reporting (worth writing again: Reporting!)
- Multicurrency management
To find out if Xero is right for your business versus your desktop system, please check out our blog on desktop vs cloud accounting and decide for yourself!
Why not Xero Accounting Software?
There are a few things Xero is not good at and this is why QuickBooks Online is still on our radar. As of December 2017, Xero is not good at:
- Multicurrency cheques
- Sub-Customers (or Customer Jobs)
The workarounds for both of these are manageable, but when a business relies on a robust sub-customer system another solution is more valuable.

Not every accounting software is perfect, particularly when we’re thinking of cloud software. Even with that in mind, Xero has features that one could only wish desktop accounting software could have.
